A placid section of the Moose River at the Thendara /Old Forge border. Thendara is a tiny hamlet in the southwest Adirondacks, located just west of the resort town of Old Forge. The Moose River, which is popular with canoers and kayakers, flows through Thendara, which is also the starting point for the Adirondack Scenic Railroad, which takes riders about 10 miles through beautiful wilderness lands to the hamlet of Otter Lake.
Landscapes of America, a special feature on the Travel Guide of America site, includes photos of beautiful places in the United States, including this scene in Thendara, New York.
